Methode Electronics, Inc. is a global manufacturer of component and subsystem devices. The company employs approximately 3,500 people who design, manufacture and test devices employing electrical, electronic, wireless, sensing and optical technologies to control and convey signals through sensors, interconnections and controls.
From its headquarters in suburban Chicago, the Company operates design, testing and manufacturing facilities in California, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan and Texas. Internationally, they operate in the Czech Republic, U.K., Germany, Malta, Mexico and China.
We manage our business on a segment basis, with those segments being Automotive, Interconnect, Power Distribution and Other. Our components are in the primary end markets of the automobile, computer, information processing and networking equipment, voice and data communication systems, consumer electronics, appliances, aerospace vehicles and industrial equipment industries.
In addition to switch and sensor technologies, and along with interconnect product capabilities, Methode also manufactures electrical power distribution systems, including bus bars, power cables and connectors, as well as heat sinks. The Company also provides full service independent laboratory testing services that can perform a vast array of quality and safety inspections such as EMC, HALT, vibration and water analysis.
For the 2007 fiscal year ended April 28, 2007, Methode achieved net sales of $448 million and earnings per share of $0.71. For the first nine months of fiscal year 2008, Methode reported net sales of $397 million and earnings per share of $0.72. As of February 2, 2008, the Company has $91 million in cash with no debt. The Company has a long history of paying dividends and paid an annual dividend of $0.20 in fiscal year 2007.
