Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, The Marcus Corporation is a leader in the lodging and entertainment industries. The company has two operating divisions: Marcus Theatres® and Marcus Hotels and Resorts.

Marcus Theatres is the seventh largest theatre circuit in the United States and owns or operates more than 675 movie screens at nearly 60 locations in key markets throughout the Midwest. This includes 18 locations and 205 screens recently acquired from other owners. The company has eleven 72-foot-wide UltraScreens® at select theatre locations and opened the Marcus Majestic Cinema, a unique entertainment destination, in Brookfield, Wis. in May 2007. Marcus Theatres is the leader in the vast majority of its markets.

Marcus Hotels and Resorts owns or manages a distinctive portfolio of 20 hotels, resorts and other properties in ten states. The division's upscale, full-service hotel and resort properties range from convention hotels to historic downtown hotels to contemporary properties and a resort with championship golf courses. Many properties include signature food and beverage concepts, spas and other upscale amenities. With approximately 5,200 rooms, the division is seeking to increase the number of rooms owned or managed, primarily through management contracts with equity investments in some properties.

In 2006, The Marcus Corporation paid a special cash dividend of $7.00 per share from proceeds resulting from the sale of its limited-service lodging division. The sale unlocked significant shareholder value and illustrates the underlying value of the company's real estate assets. The current annual cash dividend rate is $0.34 per share. The company also offers a dividend reinvestment plan.

The Marcus Corporation is committed to building shareholder value. Key company strengths include:

  • Manage for the long term
  • Significant real estate assets
  • Maintain and enhance existing assets
  • Strong balance sheet
  • Continually adapt to change
  • Focus on quality and value
  • Experienced management team
