Regis Corporation is the beauty industry's global leader in salons, hair restoration centers and education. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Company's primary business is owning, operating and franchising hair and retail product salons. In the last four years, the Company began acquiring and operating beauty schools in North America and internationally. Additionally, in December 2004, the Company acquired Hair Club for Men and Women, a leading provider of hair restoration services.
Each of the Company's salon concepts offer similar salon products and services, concentrate on the mass-market consumer marketplace and generally display similar economic characteristics. The Company's recently acquired beauty school locations offer similar educational services to students. Services are marketed to potential students pursuing post-secondary education alternatives. The Company's hair restoration centers offer three hair restoration solutions: hair systems, hair transplants and hair therapy, which are targeted at the mass-market consumer.
As of June 30, 2007, the Company owned or franchised approximately 12,400 worldwide locations; which included 11,881 beauty salons, 90 hair restoration centers, 56 beauty schools, and approximately 400 locations in which it had an ownership interest, operating under concepts such as Supercuts, Jean Louis David, Vidal Sassoon, Regis Salons, MasterCuts, Trade Secret, SmartStyle, Cost Cutters and Hair Club for Men and Women. These and other concepts are located in the US and in ten other countries throughout North America and Europe.
